Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, has introduced International Logins, a feature that allows users from 27 countries—including the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the UAE—to access all the offerings on the Swiggy app using their international phone numbers. This permanent feature offers a seamless experience while ordering food, shopping on Swiggy’s quick commerce platform Swiggy Instamart, and booking tables through Swiggy Dineout. Payments can be made easily using international credit cards or available UPI options, making it more convenient than ever to stay connected and enjoy Swiggy’s wide range of services, no matter where they are.
Introduced in response to demand from users who have previously enjoyed Swiggy while living in India or during visits, this feature enables them to send gifts and surprises, and even have groceries or essentials delivered to ageing parents back home. “Food and gifts are essential to family gatherings, especially during festivals,” said Phani Kishan, Co-founder & CGO of Swiggy. “With International Login, those living abroad can now surprise their loved ones on special occasions. This feature, long requested by our international users, is launching just in time for the festive season. Swiggy, India’s pioneering on-demand convenience platform, today introduced “Swiggy Seal”, a comprehensive initiative aimed at raising hygiene and food quality standards across lakhs of restaurant partners on its platform.
Leveraging insights from over 7 million verified customer reviews in the past six months, the Swiggy Seal program aims to elevate restaurant hygiene practices. It offers restaurant partners comprehensive insights and actionable support to ensure the delivery of hygienic, well-cooked food in high-quality packaging. Currently live in Pune, it will be gradually scaled up over November, eventually covering 650+ cities.
The trust of Swiggy Seal
The food delivery industry continues to evolve, with Indians trying an average of six new restaurants annually*. While great taste is always important, trust in food hygiene is equally important.
Through this initiative, Swiggy will share detailed, verified customer review-based feedback with restaurant partners, focusing on key areas like contamination prevention, optimal cooking, and packaging quality. These insights will empower restaurants to identify areas of improvement and implement effective hygiene practices. Additionally, Swiggy will provide support through dedicated account managers and systematic reports to assist restaurants in meeting hygiene benchmarks. Educational webinars on hygiene best practices will be a platform setup to empower restaurant partners to maintain high standards.
Swiggy has teamed up with FSSAI-accredited agencies like Eurofins, Equinox, and others to offer restaurants access to professional hygiene audits at exclusive rates. These partnerships aim to strengthen critical areas such as contamination prevention, food handling, and overall operational cleanliness. Beyond the audits, restaurants will also benefit from exclusive pricing on third-party cleaning and pest control services, further supporting their commitment to maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
Speaking on the launch of Swiggy Seal, Deepak Maloo, Head of Customer Experience & Restaurant Experience at Swiggy Food said, “As Swiggy completes a decade in food delivery, we continue to believe that access to clean hygienic food is as important as food that tastes great. With the launch of the Swiggy Seal, we aim to support our restaurant partners with actionable insights to help them enhance hygiene standards. The Swiggy Seal empowers customers with the confidence to order what they want, backed by genuine customer reviews, while also supporting restaurant partners to step up through collaboration with experts.”
Swiggy has introduced the Swiggy Seal badge in Pune and will roll it out to other cities soon. This badge, featured on restaurant menu pages to highlight those with a proven track record of serving hygienic, high-quality meals in quality packaging. This badge is awarded based exclusively on genuine customer reviews and feedback. Since the program’s launch two weeks ago, restaurant partners have shown high interest, with hundreds of requests for hygiene audits already received. Should any concerns arise about a restaurant holding the Seal, Swiggy will thoroughly review the feedback and may revoke the badge if the restaurant fails to maintain the established standards.
