- 1
Start heating your oven to 200 C or about 392 F.
- 2
This is important because when your pizza is cooked, it will ensure that it cooks evenly and gets that perfect golden crust.
- 3
You can now start preparing the rest of the contents of your pizza while waiting for the oven to get completely heated up.
- 4
In a medium bowl, take 200 gms of all-purpose flour, one teaspoon of sugar, one teaspoon of salt, and one teaspoon of instant yeast.
- 5
Dry ingredients will constitute the most basic point of your pizza dough: flavour and structure.
- 6
Mix the dry ingredients until well combined.
- 7
Gradually add the 120 ml of warm water to the flour mix.
- 8
Water should not be hot but warm because hot water may kill the yeast.
- 9
Add also 2 Tbsp of oil into the mix.
- 10
Mix all these ingredients using a wooden spoon or your hands until they start forming a dough.
- 11
Once the ingredients have combined, knead onto a lightly floured surface.
- 12
Keep kneading for about 8-10 minutes until the dough feels smooth and elastic.
- 13
When this dough has a spring to it when pressed, then you will know it is done or at least well-kneaded.
- 14
Knead the dough into a ball, and grease a big bowl lightly.
- 15
Cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap; put the dough in a warm place for approximately 1 hour to rest.
- 16
The dough is allowed to rest by this period. During its resting time, the yeast ferments, causing the dough to rise and bring out a delicious flavour.
- 17
Prepare the chicken and vegetables while resting the dough.
- 18
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan on medium heat.
- 19
Place one finely chopped onion in the pan and saut about 2 minutes until it is translucent.
- 20
Then add one finely chopped capsicum (bell pepper) and one finely chopped tomato in the pan.
- 21
Saut those vegetables together for 2-3 minutes and stir occasionally.
- 22
Add 200 gms of boneless chicken pieces into the pan.
- 23
Season this mixture with one teaspoon of red chilli powder and one teaspoon of garam masala, and add salt to taste.
- 24
Stir frequently, and cook the chicken with vegetables, making sure it gets tender and is well-cooked, for about 5-7 minutes.
- 25
Set aside from the heat and cool the pan a bit.
- 26
Once the dough has risen, punch down any air bubbles gently.
- 27
Knead it onto a lightly floured surface and then roll it into a 12-inch circle.
- 28
Roll it out evenly so that the thickness will be the same all over the base.
- 29
Pour the dough onto a greased pizza tray, spread four tablespoons of pizza sauce on one sheet, and leave a little at the edge of the dough so that it forms a crust.
- 30
This creates moisture from the crust and different flavours on your pizza.
- 31
Sprinkle abundantly with 200 gms of grated mozzarella cheese. This cheesy layer is going to fulfil the authentic pizza experience.
- 32
Finally, spread the cooked chicken and vegetable mixture evenly on top of the cheese.
- 33
Now that you have all your pizzas ready place them in the oven that you have preheated.
- 34
Bake the pizza for a total of 15-20 minutes.
- 35
Keep an eye on it while baking it; you want that golden-brown crust and melty, foamy cheese.
- 36
As soon as it is baked to your liking, pull that pizza out of the oven with care.
- 37
It's going to cool for a few minutes so that the cheese slightly sets.
- 38
Cut it into wedges, and it's ready to serve. Enjoy the fresh, hot, homemade chicken pizza!
