Shahi Paneer
Shahi paneer is usually made in a rich gravy of cream, tomatoes and many aromatic spices. Shahi represents the royal nature of the dish and is a favourite during celebrations. The gravy is usually prepared by cooking onions, ginger, and garlic in oil until browned, then ground to a paste with tomatoes, cashews, or cream. Paneer cubes are added to this sauce and simmered to give you an excellent gravy. What distinguishes Shahi Paneer is the addition of nuts, cashews or almonds, which add a subtle sweetness and richness to the flavour. Cardamom, saffron, and other spices infuse the dish, making it fragrant and flavourful without being overly spicy. Usually, Shahi Paneer is garnished using fresh cream, coriander leaves, and sometimes even saffron strands. You will often see it being served with fresh naan, roti or rice. For foodies, the delicious creamy texture, rich flavour, and subtle, luxurious taste of Shahi Paneer offer an appetising experience, whether enjoyed at lunch or dinner.
